Professor Elinor Sawyer is a Consultant Clinical Oncologist with a specialist interest in the treatment of breast cancer. She is based at Guy's & St Thomas' Hospital but also performs private work and is a Professor in Oncology at King's College London.

She completed her clinical oncology training at University College London, Royal Free and St Thomas' Hospitals. Following this, she obtained her PhD in molecular genetics of cancer at the London Research Institute. In 2005 she was appointed as a Consultant Oncologist at Guy's & St Thomas' Hospital.

As well as her clinical practice, Professor Sawyer is heavily involved in research and her work has been published in a number of peer-reviewed journals. Her main areas of research include genetic predisposition to breast cancer, particularly lobular breast cancer and pre-invasive cancer (DCIS and LCIS), and identification of biomarkers that predict the progression of early breast cancer.
